Comball is an endless 2048 merge game with a billiards theme. On gradient taupe baize, the player combines matching pairs of pool balls to reach specific merge, score and level-up goals.
The player receives one ball at a time, a dashed aiming line with a targeting circle, and a semicircular gauge in the lower-center area. When they shoot a ball, it rolls across the surface and bounces off non-matching balls and sidewalls at angles. If two balls that display the same color and number roll together, a new higher-numbered ball appears on the table. The gauge also charges a tiny bit.
If the gauge loses all colors displayed on it, or 15 balls are on the table at any given time, the player loses. The game only unlocks the next level and levels up the player's title after the player creates and merges at least two black 8 balls.
Titles start with "beginner," followed by "novice" and other levels of mastery. If the player reaches the next level and then loses, their scores and titles reset back to the beginning. That said, they can attempt to prevent a loss by making a merge just as a penalty countdown timer appears on the screen.
Comball has two boosters available to help the player retain their titles. In the lower-left corner below the table, they can use a tool to shake the table in the same way that a similar tool shakes a container in Suika games. The shaking action moves some balls into optimal merge positions. In the lower-right corner, the player can use a change tool to swap the current shooter ball with a different one that matches a ball already on the table.
